The organization projects the final campaign amount for 2012 will be $2,044,000.
The success was boosted by several companies that outperformed their previous campaigns which greatly helped realize this increase, the organization said in a prepared statement.
In some communities where there are United Ways, they are seeing their workforce giving programs struggle. We are so lucky to live in a community like Elkhart County where we have a thriving workforce campaign even in times past when our community was struggling, explained Jessica Koscher, Executive Vice President.
The Community Impact Panels have finalized their recommendations for funding, which will be announced soon.
A 10 percent increase in funding allocations has been planned as a result of the increase in campaign and a grant offered to United Ways through the Indiana Association of United Ways, the organization said.
Plans are being made now for the 2013 fall campaign. To learn more about the campaign and the organization, look for United Way of Elkhart County on Facebook.
