Major action: Held public hearings on vacant properties at 414 East Lincoln Ave., owned by Kaylene and Jared Yoder, and 513 North Fifth St., owned by Ronald Davidhizar. Found that repairs had taken place at 513 North Fifth St. and the building had been brought into compliance. Found that two of the three repairs had not taken place at 414 East Lincoln Ave. and moved that the city proceed with the ordinance violation in court.

Other actions:

• Approved the closure of three parking spots next to the alley on the south side of West Washington Street for Mattern’s outdoor grilling for First Fridays. The spots will be closed from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1.

• Approved an electrical license for Jerry L. Burt Jr. of Burt Electric, 24699 C.R. 36, Goshen. Burt received a score of 70 percent on the Master Electrical Exam.
