Middlebury Town Council

Actions:

• Heard that the new computers are installed at the town hall. The new software to update the way the town issues bills for water and sewer will come in February.

• Heard department reports. Public works superintendent Tim O’Dell thanked the water department workers for pitching in to get things done. Heard that the parks department has had a busy year, including the addition of some new park property along the Little Elkhart River, which will become the Old Mill Trail. Marshal Mike McCloughen said he was proud of police officers who did good work in arresting a burglary suspect.

• Heard that the wastewater department is streamlining its reporting system. Heard that the water department pumped about 30 million more gallons of water in 2012 than in 2011.

• Announced that the Middlebury Redevelopment Commission will meet at 7 a.m. Feb. 24 at the town hall. The next town council meeting will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 4 in the town hall.
