ELKHART — The company that maintains Elkhart County’s recycling sites plans to paint bins to remind residents that they no longer need to sort recyclable materials except for cardboard.

Chris Himes, president of Recycling Works Inc., said Wednesday that the company will paint bins at the 15 recycling locations in the county. Materials accepted at the sites include newspapers, office paper, junk mail, cereal and other food boxes, phone books and magazines. Other recyclable items accepted include aluminum cans, bi-metal cans, clear and colored glass, plastic jugs Nos. 1-7 and corrugated cardboard.
