CONSTANTINE, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation will begin the construction of a nearly five-mile two-lane US-131 Constantine bypass Monday, Feb. 4.

The bypass will span from Garber Road to Dickinson Road, creating new intersections with several roads and turn some roads into cul-de-sacs on the east and west sides of the road. It will include a new 870-foot bridge over the Saint Joseph River.

The project costs $18 million and is being led by DJ McQuestion & Sons and Rieth-Riley.
