The city-sponsored Frosty 5K run scheduled for next month has been canceled.

The event was set for Feb. 9 and was canceled because of various unforeseen circumstances, said Wendy Terrazas, the recreation coordinator for the city parks department.

The event was entering it’s fourth year and would have taken place at Oak Hills Golf Course northeast of Elkhart

While past races have attracted good levels of participation, Terrazas said registration was lagging this year.

She said they hope to resurrect the event next year.

She said the office was contacting those who had already registered and would refund all registration fees.
