SOUTH BEND — The I.C.E. Michiana app for smartphones has added three hospitals to its push network.

IU Health Goshen Hospital, IU Health Starke Hospital and Woodlawn Hospitals join the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center hospitals in Mishawaka and Plymouth in the push network.

The “In Case of Emergency” app allows first responders to access vital life-saving information, such as medicine allergies and current prescriptions, in the field. First responders are also able to push that information to a participating hospital to help emergency room staff prepare and take care of emergency patients better.

I.C.E. Michiana is available for iOS and Android phones and can be downloaded via the phone’s application store or by visiting the I.C.E. Michiana website.
