MIDDLEBURY — A 16-year-old Middlebury boy was taken to the hospital after losing control of his vehicle and hitting a utility pole Monday afternoon.

At 6:04 p.m., Bryce Day was headed east on C.R. 10, east of C.R. 39, when the pickup truck he was driving began to slide off the road. According to a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Bryce’s vehicle ran off the south side of the road due to blowing snow conditions.

Bryce was then taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital to be treated for cuts on his left arm and a possible concussion.

The crash remains under investigation, but no citations were issued at the scene.
