WHITE PIGEON, Mich. — Ralph J. Pollitt, 79, of White Pigeon, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers, after a short illness.

He was born Nov. 26, 1933, to Ralph Creed and Pearl (Wright) Pollitt in Monroe.

Ralph married Dorothy J. Ferm on April 6, 1963, in Constantine. She died on Sept. 17, 2004.

He worked as a carpenter in construction and trailer manufacturing.

Ralph was a member of Bristol American Legion Post 143, VFW and DAV.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Carl D. (Lisa) Kline and Sheila J. (Charles) Lantz; grandchildren Emily Lantz and Alton Kline; and great-granddaughter Avery Kline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings Merle Pollitt, John Newman and Mae Sonnenbend; grandsons Mathew Kline and Shawn Lantz; and granddaughter-in-law Shannon Kline.

By Ralph’s request, cremation has taken place.

A private memorial service is at a later date.

Donations may be directed to Bristol American Legion.
