JONES, Mich. — Shirley V. Butrick, 77, of Jones, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Riverview Manor, Three Rivers.

She was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Kalamazoo. She was raised by her stepfather and mother, Charles and Laura (Whitehead) Elsenheimer. She married Duane Edwin Butrick on June 12, 1954, in Dowagiac. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Mark Butrick and Charles Heivilin.

Shirley and her husband, Duane, owned and operated the Bluebird Restaurants in Jones and Niles. She enjoyed playing music. Shirley liked crosswords and crocheting. She and Duane liked going to auctions and collecting antiques.

Shirley will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Duane Butrick of Jones; three daughters, Lynette Pompey of South Bend, Ind., Lori (Bill) Pipher of Jones and Lisa Binns of Naples, Fla.; five sons, Randy (Candy) Butrick of Battle Creek, Dana (Kathy) Butrick of Jones, Alan (Michelle) Butrick of Jones, Kirk Butrick of Jones and Timothy Butrick of Appleton, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister of Missouri; and one brother, Lloyd Elsenheimer of Bradenton, Fla.

Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. Mrs. Butrick will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
