GOSHEN — Paul Samuel Brovont, 84, of Goshen, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Hastings, Mich., to Henry and Ellen (Metzger) Brovont. He married Marlene (Flora) Brovont on Dec. 11, 1949, in Harrison Township.

Surviving are his wife, Marlene; daughters Susan (Richard) Fingerle of Burlington, Elizabeth (Leon) Nead of Hart, Mich., and Julia (Allen) Yoder of Millersburg; sons Alvin (Beverly) Brovont of Pasco, Wash., and Eldon (Shelly) Brovont of Goshen; sister Esther Miller of North Manchester; brothers Howard and Eldo Brovont, both of Wakarusa; 25 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers Ray, Walter and Lawrence Brovont; sister Alma Hayes; and daughter-in-law Barbara Brovont.

Paul worked at Universal Co-op since 1951, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, where a prayer service will be at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Home ministry will officiate.

Memorials may be given to IU Health Goshen Hospice.
