ELKHART — Elkhart General Hospital will host the free seminar “An Introduction to Bariatric Surgery: Is it Right for You?” at 6 p.m. Thursday at New Directions Conference Center, Room 3414, 600 East Blvd.

Dr. Eric Knapp, bariatric surgeon and medical director of Elkhart General Hospital Bariatric and Metabolic Institute, will discuss weight-loss surgery and describe details of the surgical procedures, medical effects of untreated obesity and lifestyle changes that accompany weight-loss surgery. There will be time for questions and answers.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a support person. Registration is not required; walk-ins are welcome. Those interested should bring their insurance information.
