Drivers injured in two-vehicle crash near Goshen

GOSHEN — Two people were taken to hospitals Sunday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident on C.R. 18 west of C.R. 19

A vehicle driven by Johnathan Frank, 18, of Goshen and a vehicle driven by Stephenie Ward, 41, of Elkhart collided about 4:42 p.m., according to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department report. Frank’s vehicle was traveling east and Ward was traveling west on C.R. 18. Police said Frank’s vehicle was traveling too fast for weather conditions, lost traction and crossed the center line, striking Ward’s vehicle. Frank was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with fractures to both legs. Ward was taken to Elkhart General Hospital after complaining of neck and head pain.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Frank was cited for driving too fast for weather conditions.
