GOSHEN — Nevin and Carolyn (Bontrager) Albrecht celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in December.

They were married Dec. 24, 1947, at Emma Mennonite Church in Topeka.

The Albrecht children hosted a weekend family reunion at Amigo Centre in Sturgis, Mich., in May 2012 to begin the anniversary year celebration. This event included children, grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren. On Christmas weekend 2012, family members visited Nevin and Carolyn in their Goshen home in the Greencroft community, where they recently moved, to celebrate with them.

Mr. Albrecht worked in dairy farming in Elkhart and at Richardson’s Mobile Home Factory in Elkhart. He owned his own business in landscaping and excavating. He also worked in maintenance for Mennonite Mutual Aid in Goshen and Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart and in plant care for MMA, AMBS and Hively Avenue Mennonite Church in Elkhart. He retired in 1990. Mrs. Albrecht is a homemaker. She worked in diagnostic testing at Miles Laboratory in Elkhart and as a secretary at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, and volunteered at Ten Thousand Villages in Goshen. She retired in 1990.

Their children are Jerry (Barbara) Albrecht of Goshen, Lola (Merrill) Gingerich of Milford, Sharlene (Don) Patterson of Kalona, Iowa, and Lynn (Kathy) Albrecht of Edwardsburg, Mich.

They have 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
