GOSHEN — Three businesses have pledged to bring 85 jobs to Elkhart County in exchange for tax phase-ins.

The Elkhart County Council unanimously approved phase-ins for Alliance Aluminum Products Inc., Indiana Galvanizing LLC and Vista Manufacturing Inc. on Saturday.

The largest of the three tax phase-ins was granted to Indiana Galvanizing, a company based in Missouri that plans to create up to 60 new full-time jobs over the next seven years. The steel galvanizing company will hire employees in Middlebury with annual salaries adding up to more than $2.24 million. The company has committed to investing $500,000 in real estate as well as $510,000 in new manufacturing and technology equipment.

“We dealt with a few other states at the beginning, and it was very apparent from the beginning that Indiana and Elkhart County was going to be the home for us,” said Ryan Monnig of parent company Monnig Industries Inc.

The county council gave Vista Manufacturing, a LED light producer, a tax phase-in to hire 15 people with annual salaries totaling $538,000. The company, which has been in business for more than three decades, provides lighting products for recreational vehicles, aircrafts and movie theaters among other industries. The company will invest $2.48 million in real estate in Elkhart, according to its contract with the county.

“We’ve been in our existing facility since ’83, and it’s 12,800 square feet, so for us to step up and move into a 34,000-square-foot facility, we’re really excited,” company president Todd Tieszen told the county council. “The steps Elkhart County has taken has been a great assistance. We’re looking forward to a lot more growth.”

Alliance Aluminum Products, an aluminum extrusion company in Bristol, will expand by investing $1.3 million in real estate and hiring 10 new employees over the next eight years with a yearly payroll adding up to $343,000.

Smart Cabinet LLC was also scheduled to have a tax phase-in reviewed on Saturday, but the woodworking company asked to delay its public hearing until February to allow more time for real estate transactions to be finalized.
