Bishop D'Arcy receiving treatment for rare cancer, asking for prayers
He is currently undergoing 15 days of radiation, which has relieved many symptoms and will be followed by chemotherapy, according to a press release from D'Arcy. His doctors are working together to treat the cancer that D'Arcy calls “very rare” and “quick striking.”
“Now, most importantly, I ask everyone for your prayers,” he said. “Pray that I will accept this and whatever is to come with a full heart and a full 'Yes' to God. I am grateful to God for the extraordinary life He has given me and the graces He has poured out on me.”
D'Arcy was admitted to Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Bright, Mass. on Dec. 30. Doctors found cancer in his brain and lung after extensive testing.
