ELKHART — Charles B. Adam, 82, of Elkhart, formerly of Wakarusa, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

He was born Aug. 19, 1930, in LaMotte Township, Mich., to Bruce Cody and Helen May (Stitt) Adam. He married Esther (Brenneman) Adam on Aug. 23, 1952.

Surviving are his wife, Esther; sons Mark (Donna) Adam of Eaton Rapids, Mich., and John (Cynthia) Adam of Goshen; grandchildren Michelle, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Lucas and Faith Adam and Melissa, Amy and Adam Lein; and a sister, Donna (Raymond) Witmer of Elkhart.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Mary Beth Breske; parents; brother Arthur Adam; and a sister, Doris Adam.

Charles was a graduate of Bethel College with a bachelor of arts in religion and a member of Wakarusa Sharing Citizens, Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association and Calvary Assembly of God. He was a former minister at Oak Grove Missionary Church, then worked in the poultry industry and was a purchasing agent for Manchester Tank, Elkhart.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren, 24955 C.R. 24, Elkhart, with the service following at 1 p.m. Pastor Dan Brenneman will officiate and burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Bethel College or Elkhart Valley Church of the Brethren.
