Driver crashes SUV into tree in Baugo Township

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Dustin Taylor, 36, was heading north on C.R. 1 around 3:50 p.m. when he attempted to pass another vehicle. While making the pass, Taylor lost control of his Chevy Trailblazer and hit a tree off the left side of the road in the 56300 block of C.R. 1.
Baugo Township emergency personnel took Taylor to the hospital for a broken wrist and chest pain, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Taylor was cited for passing in a no passing zone and speeding too fast for weather conditions.
