Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a fire that was contained to a residential garage Sunday evening in Baugo Township.

The Baugo Township Fire Department responded to the 57000 block of Paul Street, north of Mishawaka Road and west of S.R. 19, around 8 p.m. Sunday. Fire Chief Chad Carey said the fire was contained to the garage. However, the garage was severely damaged, and two vehicles inside the garage at the time of the fire were destroyed. Carey estimated the damage to be about $20,000.

Carey said there may have been two people in the residence at the time the fire started, but no one was injured.

Carey said the investigation continued Monday as they tried to determine the cause of the fire.

Osceola and Concord Township Fire Departments were called to aid at the scene.
