Goshen house fire traps woman on balcony for short time

GOSHEN — The Goshen Fire Department responded to a house fire in downtown Goshen this morning, Jan. 8.

The fire department was called around 8:30 a.m. to 114 S. Seventh St. according to dispatch.

The fire was under control about 20 minutes after the call. According to dispatch, one person was reported trapped at a balcony of the house, but she didn’t appear to be in danger and was quickly removed from the structure, according to those responding at the scene.

The fire produced a lot of smoke, but was put out quickly, according to Truth photo chief Jennifer Shephard, who is at the scene.
