ELKHART — Transhield, Inc. was recently awarded a contract to make 120 protective covers for MaxxPro Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles for the U.S. Army.

This is the second military contract Transhield has received in the past six months. The U.S. Marines also is using the protective covers for all of their MRAP vehicles.

The covers will replace the vinyl and canvas tarps previously used by the U.S. Army, which did not protect the vehicles from corrosion and the environment and were not optimized for long-term use.
