They were married Jan. 5, 1973, at Ventura Missionary Church in Ventura, Calif.
They are celebrating with a cruise later this year. An informal family celebration is planned around the date of the event.
Mr. Baier works for State Farm. Mrs. Baier works for Elkhart Community Schools.
Their children are Erin (Matthew) of Elkhart and Joseph (Miranda) of Middlebury.
Their grandchildren are Braden, 11, and Kellen, 7, both of Elkhart.
