ELKHART — Shelba J. Lenaburg, 75, of Elkhart, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.

Shelba was born May 2, 1937, in Elkhart to Everett J. and Anna (Hunsberger) Eby. On July 26, 1958, she married Karl Lenaburg.

He survives along with a son, Douglas E. Lenaburg (Jeri Hart-Lenaburg) of Elkhart; a daughter, Cynthia (Rodney) Uzzel of Kentwood, Mich.; three brothers, Roger (Janice) Eby of Middlebury, Rolland (Sandra) Eby of Wakarusa and Rex (Sonia) Eby of Millersburg; two sisters, Carolyn Blosser of Union, Mich., and Linda (Jim) Rider of Elkhart; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Terry and Sylvia Shelly of Arizona; five grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan and Andrea Uzzel and Emily and Molly Lenaburg; a great-grandchild, Julian Derrix; and her stepmother, Katie Eby of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Sharon Eby; and a brother-in-law, Virgil Blosser.

Shelba was a member of Northside Church of the Nazarene, 4-Arts and Questers Club.

What made her happiest was when her grandchildren came home.

Shelba enjoyed traveling over the Eastern states to large car shows. She also enjoyed her flowers and vegetable gardens.

Shelba loved teaching fifth- and sixth-grade Sunday school classes for many years.

Shelba worked at Whitehall Laboratories for many years and most recently at Elkhart Memorial High School, where she was a paraprofessional.

Friends may call for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service today, Jan. 5, 2013, at Northside Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Tim Sheets and the Rev. Oscar Sheets will officiate.

Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery.
