CASS COUNTY — The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team arrested a woman in Porter Township on Thursday, Jan. 3, for possession of marijuana and hash.

Acting on a tip from a citizen, detectives conducted a search around 11:30 a.m. Thursday at a residence in the 15000 block of U.S. 12. A search of the property resulted in the seizure of marijuana and hash.

Melissa Goodman, 27, was at the residence at the time of the search and was taken into custody. Michigan DHS Child Services took three children from the residence into protective custody.

Goodman was arraigned in the Fourth District Court today, Jan. 4, and charged with possession with intent to manufacture hash, possession of marijuana and maintaining a drug house. She is being held at the Cass County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
