MIDDLEBURY — Shirley J. Grace, 60, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Dec. 30, 2012, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne following an auto accident.
She was born July 25, 1952, in Michigan City to Hilbert and Rose (Migliore) Butts.
On Oct. 7, 1988, she married Claude Grace in Paris, Tenn. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Natalie Grace of Middlebury and Nancy Grace of Westville; two sons, Keith Butts of Middlebury and Tony (Trish) Grace of Bristol; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Tommy, Kyle, Laura, T.J., Cody, Mariane, Josh, and Liliana; a great-granddaughter, AvaLynn; and two sisters, Carmella “Peanut” Weber and Pat (Carl) Human, both of Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia “Puggie” Austin; and a brother, Samuel Lee Butts.
Shirley has been the lead laundry attendant at Greencroft for more than 20 years. She had many friends and co-workers. She loved spending time with family and friends. Everyone had a special place in her heart. She would do anything for anyone and always put others’ needs before her own. She will be greatly missed.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A 1 p.m funeral Mass will be Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen, with the Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
