Class teaches how to be an EMT

GOSHEN — Indiana University Health Goshen will offer a five-month basic emergency medical technician course from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Jan. 14.

The course will cover basic anatomy and physiology, airway techniques, basic life support, pediatric care and trauma care. It will involve clinical hours in the hospital in addition to field internship hours riding on local paramedic ambulances.

The cost is $700 and includes textbook and materials. Space is limited; registration is required. A $200 deposit will ensure placement. The remainder can be paid in installments throughout the course. A high school diploma or GED is required. To register or for more information call 364-2621 or 877-566-4660.
