Superior shooting leads Penn past Goshen in boys hoops
That made for a 78-34 Kingsmen boys basketball runaway Saturday in the NIC/NLC Shootout at St. Joseph.
Bolstered by 14 of 25 in the second half, Penn (6-3) shot 54.5 percent from the floor while the Redskins (5 of 24 after intermission) connected on 29.5 percent.
The Kingsmen’s balanced attack featured Austin Torres (15 points), Jordan Geist (13), Ryan Lutz (11) and Conner Sowders (10).
Goshen, which had its win streak stopped at four and fell to 6-2, was led by Sam Stegelmann’s 13 points.
In the other game, St. Joseph edged Northridge 53-51.
