RV shipments up during November

RESTON, Va. — Shipments of wholesale RVs to retailers were reported at 20,561 units in November, up 25.2 percent from the same month in 2011, according to a release from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, last month’s total represented an annual rate of more than 360,000 units, which is an increase of nearly 10 percent over October 2012 and ahead of last November by 26.1 percent.

The release also stated that towable RVs were up 21.4 percent over November 2011, while all motorhome totals were ahead of last year by 66.9 percent.

Year-to-date totals for 2012 are 266,789 RV units shipped to retailers, up 13.3 percent over the same period in 2011.
