Bonneyville Mill County Park manager Krystin Hildebrandt, who lives on site at the park with her dog, Mercy, said the 5-year-old pooch ran off early Wednesday morning. Hildebrandt is worried because French bulldogs, like Mercy, typically need Caesarean sections to safely have puppies.
Hildebrandt has been searching the park property high and low for her dog, visiting the animal shelter every day and posting flyers around Bristol hoping that someone would recognize her pet.
Mercy weighs about 20 pounds with brindle fur and a white chest. Hildebrandt said Mercy is very friendly and answers willfully to her name. The dog is not wearing a collar, Hildebrandt added.
“She’s fine with other dogs, and she is good with people,” Hildebrandt said. “She’s a French bulldog, so she’s a bit of a clown.”
Anyone who finds Mercy is asked to call Hildebrandt at 312-4397 or drop her off at the police station or fire department in Bristol.
