ELKHART — Maria Aurora Tirado, 77, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Golden Living Center.

She was born July 22, 1935, in La Moncada, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Mariano Serrano Martinez and Ma.del Refugio Ochoa. On Nov. 16, 1957, in Mexico, she married Francisco L. Tirado. He survives.

Maria is also survived by her daughters, Ma.del, Refugio, Cabrera of Elkhart, Cristina, Moncada of Dallas and Ma.Del, Carmen, Rodriquez of Elkhart; sons Jose. F. Tirado of Elgin, Ill., and Roberto Tirado, Jose G. Tirado, Luis A. Tirado, Mariano Tirado and Fernando Tirado, all of Elkhart; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Maria had lived in Elkhart for the past 19 years, coming from Chicago. She loved cooking, knitting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will take place in San Jose Cemetery, La Moncada, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family.
