Center for Healing and Hope awarded grant

ELKHART — The Schowalter Foundation of Kansas awarded a $7,000 grant to The Center for Healing and Hope to support the clinic location at Belmont Mennonite Church, Elkhart.

The Schowalter Foundation of Newton, Kan., makes grants twice yearly to nonprofit agencies. The Center for Healing and Hope provides urgent health care services and advocacy for the uninsured through the help of medical and nonmedical volunteers. It began in 1999 with a clinic in Goshen and added a clinic in Elkhart in 2005. In 2011 the organization expanded to include a clinic at Belmont Mennonite Church.
