For the past two years, the children have participated in Tower Tuesdays, bringing in their loose change in exchange for participating in day long “spirit days” including hat day, teddy bear day, and pajama day.
With the school adjacent to the park, students would use their field day walking to the tower at the end of each year, and would like to see the tower rebuilt in order to continue this tradition.
To date the students, parents and teachers have helped raise over $2,800 through Tower Tuesdays and Fuel Your Sole 5K, bringing the Tower Fund to almost $65,000 with a goal of $182,000 to rebuild a steel-based tower that is ADA compliant on the main level.
Businesses and individuals interested in sending a tax deductible donation can mail it to Elkhart County Parks, Attn: Ox Bow Tower Fund, 211 W. Lincoln Ave., Goshen.
