Hate-filled blame game can wait

We tragically lost our 4-year-old angel, Alicia Nichole. We know first-hand what these parents in Newtown, Conn., are going through and will continue to endure the rest of their lives. Shame on Kenton Monjon for spewing his hate speech in a letter before the first child was buried (“Selling assault weapons is insanity,” Dec. 18 People’s Forum)! These children and adults deserve our respect. Hate-filled rhetoric and political pandering should at the very least wait until the burials are completed. Did Mr. Monjon and others like him consider what they could do to help these families before putting pen to paper or stepping in front of a microphone in a hate-filled blame game? Why not instead send a few dollars to help with these burials because most parents don’t purchase life insurance to bury their children. We expect our kids to bury us, not the other way around. This would be a positive first step in their healing and yours.
