UNION, Mich. — A fire was responsible for $75,000 of damage in Union Friday afternoon.

Southeast Public Safety Authority firefighters were called to the fire in the 7000 block of Claire Drive at 1:56 p.m. Friday. They found a two-story home on fire with a fully involved attic.

According to a release from SEPSA, the homeowner was on the scene and was able to partially delay the fire’s progress until fire units arrived.

Units from five other local departments assisted SEPSA: Newburg Township Fire, Osolo Township Fire, Bristol Fire, White Pigeon Fire and Edwardsburg EMS.

The blaze was extinguished by 2:32 p.m. No one was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but does not appear to be suspicious.
