ELKHART — Authorities have ruled the death of Norma J. Hopper a homicide, according to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Police investigators are asking for witnesses who can help police find a car missing from the residence where Hopper was found, said sheriff’s Capt. James Bradberry. The car is a four-door blue 1998 Chevrolet Lumina with an Indiana license plate In God We Trust SPV314.

An autopsy of Hopper’s body was completed Saturday.

Hopper, 76, was found Friday afternoon at 54640 Michael Drive, east of Elkhart. She was the sole owner of that property, according to the most recent records available from Elkhart County.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the Lumina or knows anything about the incident is asked to call at 533-4151.
