INDIANAPOLIS — Nicholas Hibshman of Memorial and Matt Eppers of Central were honored Sunday as members of the 2012 Indianapolis Colts Indiana High School Academic All-Stars team.

The Elkhart athletes were among 24 players recognized before the start of Sunday's Tennessee Titans-Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts, working directly with the IHSAA and the Indiana Football Coaches Association, have honored top student-athletes for the past 14 seasons. Awards are named position-by-position.

Hibshman was a linebacker for the Crimson Chargers while Eppers was a record-setting placekicker for the Blue Blazers.

Eppers was 39 of 43 in extra point kicks and he connected on 13 of 16 field goals, including a school-record 50-yarder against Goshen.
