Goshen convenience store robbed early Monday

A 7-Eleven convenience store was robbed shortly before 6 a.m. Monday in Goshen.

A store employee told police a man entered the store at 1000 S. Main St., asked for cigarettes and then demanded money from the cash register. The man then displayed a handgun and pointed it at the employee, according to news release issued by the Goshen Police Department.

The employee then handed over money and the man fled the store.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s with a large build and a height of between 6-foot, 1-inch and 6-foot, 4-inches, the statement said.

He was wearing sunglasses, had a dark goatee and freckles. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt and black shoes.

The Goshen Police Department is investigating.
