Three-car crash in Elkhart sends two to hospital
The accident occurred around 7:20 a.m. at C.R. 6 and Northland Drive, according to Lt. Laura Koch of the Elkhart Police Department. She said two occupants of the vehicles involved were transported to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was temporarily disrupted as Elkhart police handled the crash.
The mishap, involving a pickup, a van and a sport utility vehicle, occurred when a car in an eastbound C.R. 6 lane, stopped to turn north onto Northland Drive, was hit from behind by another eastbound car. That collision pushed the stopped car into a westbound lane of C.R. 6, when it was struck by the third car, according to Koch.
