ELKHART — Inside Indiana Business is reporting that Elkhart-based Kem Krest Corp. plans to move into the former Think Automotive building in Elkhart.

Kem Krest officials weren’t available for immediate comment but a woman who answered the phone acknowledged this afternoon that a press release about the move had been sent out today.

According to Inside Indiana Business, Kem Krest, a provider of supply chain services for the automotive, agricultural, industrial and defense industries bought the former electric-car maker’s building at 3221 Magnum Drive to accommodate growth plans after the company doubled in size since 2005. The company recently extended a contract with Hyundai by five years.

This new facility gives us the flexibility and capacity for future growth,” said CFO David Weaver in the press release posted by Inside Indiana Business. “This is more than just a building. It represents our home and further solidifies our roots in Elkhart,” said Amish Shah, president of the company.

Kem Krest will invest more than $4.3 million in the new headquarters and warehouse, according to the posted press release.
