People’s Forum: Mayor Moore crusades against advertising
Posted: 12/07/2012 at 1:15 am

Elkhart Mayor Dick Moore pledges to chase off those advertising in a city right of way, according to ordinance. What can that mean besides taking a job away from someone trying to make a living?

The gimme cap boldly brandishing the logo of John Deere, NAPA or CAT? You will now have to leave it at home.

The hoodie recklessly revealing the brand Hollister, Abercrombie or Hilfiger? Verboten.

The T-shirt handed out to runners at the 10K daringly displaying local sponsors/advertisers on the back? Unwelcome on the streets and sidewalks of Elkhart.

Be careful, Moore’s enforcers will be out starting in February, searching for advertising scofflaws in the city with a heart.
