The Elkhart County Democratic Party is sponsoring a “Pre-Inaugural Ball” on Dec. 15 to celebrate the re-election of President Obama and the election of other Democrats.

It’s to be held at the Athenian Ball Room on the ninth floor of 500 S. Main St. Glenda Ritz, the superintendent-elect of public instruction for Indiana and a Democrat, will be the keynote speaker.

Activities start at 6 p.m. with social hour followed by a dinner and a program from 7 to 9 p.m. and dancing until midnight.

Democratic U.S. Sen.-elect Joe Donnelly, finishing up his term as representative to Indiana’s 2nd congressional district, may appear, depending on pending activity in Washington D.C. Other scheduled speakers include Elkhart County Democratic Party Chairwoman Shari Mellin and Goshen Mayor Allan Kauffman, among others.
