Child and Parent Services will be offering ten-week long parenting classes from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesdays starting Jan. 9 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays starting Jan. 10 at the Joy Rose Center, 1100 W. Hively Avenue. Both English and Spanish classes are offered on Thursdays. Parents will gain insight into childhood development and parenting styles, appropriate expectations, why children misbehave, preventing misbehavior and setting logical consequences. Fee is $50 per family. Light meals and child care for children ages 0-12 are provided at no additional cost. Register by Jan. 2. To register call 295-2277.
