The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department suspects that the death of a woman found outside the former American Countryside farmers market was a homicide, according to sheriff's Lt. Travis Adamson.
The woman, who has not been identified, was 45 years old.
Adamson said investigators are working with the Elkhart Police Department to determine if there is a connection to a dead man found in Elkhart shortly after the first discovery.
12:20 p.m. UPDATE:
Police are investigating a second body found around noon today, Dec. 1, behind a restaurant in Elkhart's southwest side.
The apparently lifeless body is in the parking lot of Poor Tony's, 2110 W. Franklin St. Officers cordoned off the area as their investigation began.
It's unclear if this incident is related to a body found outside American Countryside about an hour earlier. However, an Elkhart County Sheriff's Department officer was among the officers investigating alongside Elkhart Police Department officers.
Sheriff's deputies are also handling the American Countryside death.

ELKHART — Elkhart County sheriff's deputies were investigating the circumstances surrounding a body found this morning, Dec. 1, outside the former American Countryside farmers market, 27919 C.R. 26.
Officers were sent to American Countryside at 10:55 a.m. in response to a report of a person lying in the parking lot.
The body is in a parking lot on the east side of the market. The person was clothed in a white shirt that appeared to be blood-stained.
Further details were not immediately available.
