Goshen Fire department asking for publics help in finding cause of fire

The house at 427 N. Fifth St., Goshen, still stands, but the one at 425 N. Fifth was burned to the ground early Sunday morning. Both houses were vacant, according to fire officials and police.

Firefighters responded to 425 N. Fifth St. near the S.R. 15 train overpass around 5:09 a.m.
The fire destroyed two houses on that block, with an estimated damage of $40,000. Jim Ramer, assistant fire chief, said the fire department is still investigating the cause, but they could not point to any malfunctions in the houses that could have started the fire.

According to a press release from the fire department, information leading to the arrest of person responsible for this fire may be eligible for rewards of up to $5,000.
