Peoples Forum: Country never more divided than now
Today, hostility, apathy and selfishness are commonly used to define us as a nation. We are impatient, not for the truth about our problems, but for the newest electronic device on the market.
Obama mentioned qualities such as love, charity, duty and patriotism. He could not offend his homosexual base by acknowledging the fact that throughout history these qualities have been instilled in every generation through strong families.
We are more divided than we have ever been in my 84-year lifetime. What divides us today is much bigger than the economy. If the election was about the economy, Obama would not have won.
You said honesty is needed in addressing our greatest challenge today, which is, “Our nation needs to overcome differences.”
Before Nov. 6, we were a nation divided by the false belief on one side that church and state should never merge. That is no longer important. We elected a president who in four years built up himself as god who, over the next four years, will please his base by instituting secularist doctrines as the nation’s religion.
Before Nov. 6 we were a nation of Christians divided by the false belief that God failed to unite his church in one body. As we prepare for battle our cause would benefit greatly if we asked God to help us as he helped our ancestors who prayed in one body.
