Purdue Extension – Elkhart County will be hosting two meetings for private applicators on Dec. 13. Both meetings will be in the Ag Hall on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen.

The first meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will cover the subject of brown marmorated stinkbug, Asian garden beetles and new fertilizer/manure application rules. The second meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will cover pesticide storage and new fertilizer/manure application regulations.

Private applicators can receive two PARP credits if they attend both sessions. Pesticide and fertilizer (manure) license holders can get credit for attending. The cost is $10 per meeting if you want PARP credit. No reservations are necessary to attend these meetings.

Private applicators need to attend three classes over the course of five years to renew their PARP/Category 14 license. In addition, they can obtain no more than 2 credits in any given year. If you are unsure of how many credits you have, you can go to www.ppp.purdue.edu/PARP/index.html and select Private Applicator Records to view your status. If you do not have Internet access, call our office at 533-0554 and we can look up your status.

Click on the pesticide recertification link on the left side of the page to view a county-by-county listing of upcoming programs. This list changes frequently, so if you are in need of credits, be sure to check back from time to time.
