ELKHART — South Main Street in Elkhart reopened for traffic Wednesday.

Contractors with Niblock Excavating finishing final paving work on the street at Starr Avenue and Canary Boulevard intersections Wednesday afternoon.

The road has been closed for more than a month for sewer work.

A spokesperson for Niblock said more work will continue on side streets.

Work on a railroad crossing further to the north on South Main Street was also completed earlier this week, according to a spokesman for the city.
