The state health department has issued new regulations for residential and commercial on-site sewage systems that will go into effect on Monday.

The new regulations require soil analysis for on-site sewage systems to be conducted by Indiana Registry of Soil Scientists employees. Individuals and businesses who make soil boring requests must select an IRSS professional at their expense in order to receive a permit from the local health department.

Soil boring information already on file at the county health department will not be affected by the new regulations and will not require another soil analysis provided no changes are made to the site.
