Meeting: Bristol Town Council



When: Thursday



Key action: Approved the 2013 contract with the Bristol Fire Department for $220,680.



Other actions: Approved proceeding with an additional appropriation from the rainy day fund of $50,000 to purchase two tornado sirens for the town.



Approved purchasing a 2000 GMC boom truck for $3,900.



Approved changing in-house procedures for doing payroll for town employees.



Heard that the Bristol Police Department is almost finished contacting businesses to be included in their 2013 calendar, but if a business has not been contacted and would like to be included, it’s not too late to call the police department at 848-4464.



Heard that it is illegal to leave items outside the Goodwill box in the Harding’s Grocery Store parking lot in Bristol. Items that won’t fit in the box should be taken to a Goodwill Store. Donors receive a receipt for their tax-deductible donation.
