Goshen man in fatal crash pleads guilty at Circuit Court

Watkins
Watkins will be sentenced to two years in the Elkhart County Community Corrections and four years on reporting probation.
Watkins was involved in a crash Nov. 24, 2011, in which Aaron Jett, 22, was killed and Darnell Cassell, 26, was seriously injured.
The crash happened at the intersection of Concord Mall Drive and South Main Street, when Watkins fell asleep as he was driving south on Main Street. The car he was in, as well as Jett and Cassell were in, crossed the center of the lane and struck a pole on the southeast side of the intersection.
Jett, who was riding in the back seat, was pronounced dead at the scene. Cassell was trapped in the front passenger seat.
Watkins’ sentencing hearing was scheduled for Dec. 13.
